Two days to gather and think about tomorrow's Defence
The Chairmen of the National Assembly and Senate Defence Committees have organized the Summer Conference for 13 years. By gathering 400 French and European decision-makers from political, industrial and military areas, the Conference offers an excellent opportunity to debate about tomorrow's Defence. With the presence of the Ministry of Defence, this event represents a way of enriching the reflexion with dialogue and exchange between decision-makers coming from different countries.
Highlighting the news on defence sector and preparing the coming parliamentary year
This year, debates will focus on the new economic and geostrategic issues associating the answer to operational emergencies to the preparation of the tools of tomorrow's Defence. It will be the occasion for all of us to concentrate on relevant topics regarding the future of our armies and to get ready before the opening of the parliamentary year. In a convivial atmosphere, the Conference enables to meet and debate with different actors. It is an important event which starts the beginning of the legislative year.
A platform promoting networking and guaranteeing confidentiality
As for the twelve previous editions, in 2016 debates will take different forms: plenary sessions, small workshops, forums, informal meetings...
As usual, these numerous debates will be whether public or held under the rule of "Chatham House". The Summer Conference wants to preserve its independance and informal discussions between participants. By guaranteeing confidentiality, the Conference promotes networking between actors in order to consolidate strategic links which are essential for the future of the Defence sector.
